Galaxy were formed in 2008 by Liam Wilson and Adam Jones. In the 2007/2008 season, Jones was manager of KYPC u16s, while Wilson was first team coach and goalkeeper coach.

At the end of the season, Wilson decided to go it alone and start his own mini soccer team. After consulting with KYPC and especially the late Peter Medlen, Galaxy was formed. After putting the idea to Jones, he immediately left the u17s and agreed to come to Galaxy. However, two managers + no players = no team!

Wilson and Jones found four players to join Galaxy from a Saturday morning coaching session, and after spending three months trying to complete the team, three more players responded to adverts and Galaxy were a team at last!

Galaxy have now been running for 6 years 2012/2013 is there first season at 9aside.
