KYPC GALAXY U12'S
Wallsend Boys Club Vs KYPC Galaxy
Pin Point Junior Recruitment League Division 2
6.30pm
Galaxy travelled to this midweek game in the Easter period with only 9 players
against top of the league side Wallsend, but the remaining players in the
Galaxy side away on holiday. It was always going to be tough with a full squad
but the Galaxy lads put on one hell of a show despite the result saying other
wise.
Galaxy in the opening 10 minutes looked at home as they knocked the ball about
from the back and when they were without possession defended well and looked
hard to break down. Wallsend grabbed a goal just after 10 minutes as a cross
came into the box and as it was attempted to be cleared it deflected of a
Galaxy defender into his own net 1-0. Again 5 minutes later it was 2-0 another
own goal and it looked like it was going to be one of them days, 20 minutes on
the clock it was 3-0 and 3 own goals and Galaxy were playing some great stuff
and again in possession looked comfortable. Wallsend had 13 players and using
the rotation of their subs freshened things up with Galaxy unable to do this
came in at half time 5-0 down.
The lads re grouped and told to not lose the 2nd half and this is exactly what
they did as they frustrated Wallsend with some great football and some solid
performances from all players. Just after half time a strong challenge on Luke
left Galaxy down to 8 men with 25 minutes to go, Luke went off with suspected
ligament damage, and no subs. Wallsend kept 9 on the pitch but it was Galaxy
who scored the next goal as Scott smashed home a free kick from 20 yards
out and gave them a lift for the remainder of the game, Wallsend just
before the final whistle scored their 6th from a great delivery into the box.
