Cramlington Juniors Whites Vs KYPC Galaxy

Pin Point Junior Recruitment League Division 2

Todays game seen Galaxy travel away from home for the 3rd week in a row to face a strong Cramlington Juniors Whites side who have only been beaten once all season but this is why Galaxy joined the Sunday league to face teams such as todays opponent's. Galaxy travelled with a fully fit squad for the trip up the road welcoming back Jake from injury which had kept him out of last weeks game following a late fitness test. Galaxy in their Blue and Black stripes started with Jamie in goal and a back three of Luke James and Elliott, the midfield was Dean and Sam on the wings with Scott and Ethan in the middle and lone striker Callum which left Jordan Jake and Dominic on the bench.

The game got under way on a fine Sunday morning with the sun shining and Galaxy looking to put a decent shift in and not allow Cramlington any time on the ball. The start of the game was very fast and both sides looking to get at each others backline with both wingers of Cramlington attempting to get past Luke and Elliott but they both stood firm and came away with the ball. Cramlington created the 1st chance of the game and looked the sharper in the early stages and they hit the post from a decent effort and this rallied Galaxy into a reaction. Scott and Ethan in the middle started to play the ball on the floor and compete for every 1st and 2nd ball and they were winning the battle. The 1st goal came midway through the 1st half and it was Cramlington who struck as they raced clear and prodded the ball just over the line as James ran back to clear of the line but just failed to make it 1-0 Cramlington. Galaxy again started to become stronger on the ball and the width from Sam and Dean was proving key as Scott seen a gap to play Callum through and he got ahead of the defender and also the on rushing keeper and delivered into the box but nobody in a blue and black shirt could connect with his cross and the whistle blew for half time.

The lads at half time came in listening to every word that was said to them from both gaffers and a few changes were made as Jordan came on for Elliott and Jake and Dominic came on for Sam and Dean as Galaxy went 2 up front and 3 centre midfielders. Their was an instant response as Galaxy from the off pushed for the equalisier and Ethan was shrugging his marker off, forced a throw-in deep in the Cramlington half and as the ball was played into the box Dominic held off 2 defenders and swivelled in the box and fired home from 6 yards into the bottom corner 1-1. Galaxy with their tails up now went on the attack again and it was Dominic again who turned his marker on the edge of the box and smashed the ball towards the top corner but for only the Cramlington keeper to pull of a fantastic save and tip it over the bar. Galaxy from the resulting corner went close again as they had their effort blocked of the line and cleared from danger. Cramlington came back into the game and James at the back was again having an outstanding game as he cleared the danger every time Galaxy's defence came under pressure. Galaxy playing on the counter went close again as Jordan and Ethan linked up well but Ethan couldn't find the net. Cramlington sucker punched Galaxy as the game opened up, as both sides were repeatedly counter attacking each other, and after a superb save from Jamie in goal the 1st reaction to the ball was a red and white strip and Cramlington went 2-1 up 10 minutes left. Galaxy would not give up and with only minutes remaining on the clock, Jake played a ball through to Ethan who went 1 on 1 and slipped the ball past the on rushing goal keeper and with the ball heading into the goal the Cramlington defender cleared the ball of the line and the game ended 2-1 Cramlington Juniors Whites and heart ache for Galaxy.

The lads at the full time whistle could not believe it after the effort and attitude they had shown throughout they had came away with nothing to show for it and yet again Galaxy come away from a game were a point at least would have been deserved but they leave empty handed. The lads looked down at the end but wise words from the gaffers and training on Tuesday will have the lads going again and looking for a win in next weeks cup game.
